Oman LNG signs three agreements to support welfare associations

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman LNG on Tuesday signed agreements with the Omani Society for Hearing Impaired, and the Omani Women's Associations (OWA) in Al Awabi and Jebel Akhdar as part of its efforts to provide funds for social development programmes.

A press release stated that the three agreements, focusing primarily on social welfare, fall under the Empowering Communities' segment of the company's three-pronged Social Investment Programme.

As per the agreement with the Omani Society for Hearing Impaired, Oman LNG will fund purchase of a 30-seater passenger bus at a cost of RO20,000. The bus will help the society in organising various social activities for its members.

According to the second agreement, the company will provide OWA's branch in Al Awabi a 15-seater passenger coaster bus. The vehicle will be used to transport children for educational activities at the association and help the branch in organising social activities.

As part of the third agreement, the company will provide RO10,000 to facilitate the purchase of office equipment and furniture at OWA's office in Jebel Akhdar.

''The accords inked today are in line with company's efforts to promote social welfare for different segments of the society.

''This in turn encourages the building of a strong and vibrant society that values and cares for its people,'' Khalid al Massan, chief corporate affairs officer, Oman LNG was quoted in the release as saying.
