(MENAFN - Arab News) Seventy-two companies have offered 12000 jobs for saudis at a career fair held in jeddah.
the sixth career opportunity forum held on tuesday and wednesday was organized by prolinks company which also signed an agreement with the makkah governor's office to continue bringing jobseekers and companies together.
alanud abu naja the chief executive officer of the company signed the agreement with hisham al-falih an economic development officer who deputized for the makkah governor. mazan batterjee vice president of the jeddah chamber of commerce and industry welcomed the agreement and said it would help the company create more jobs for saudis.
naja said the makkah governor chose the company because it has consistently delivered on its mandate to develop the youth and grow the economy.
al-falih said the agreement would help achieve the goals of saudization. 'this agreement betwee us and prolinks will focus on bringing the private and public sectors closer together in providing job and career opportunities for the youth."
he said that many jobs are available for saudis in the private sector. the makkah governor wants to provide new avenues for employment in the country he said.
mohsen al-sheikh al-hassan an expert in entrepreneurship and deputy chairman of prolinks told arab news that the company has held five career forums in just two years. it has found jobs for saudis and ensured companies hire excellent workers.
'the 12000 jobs provided by the company at this sixth forum is a big step towards helping young people" said al-hassan.
he said the company brings jobseekers and workers together under one roof. it also monitors whether companies really hire people he said. the forum also has a special section where people with disabilities can find assistance to get jobs.
