Trade between Pakistan, UAE reaches USD9b


(MENAFN) Investments by Pakistani nationals in the UAE was estimated at USD23 billion, while trade between the two countries hit USD9 billion in 2013, according to the Emirates 24/7. Asif Ali Khan Durrani, Pakistan's Ambassador to the UAE, said: "Expatriate Pakistanis had made around USD23 billion investments in the UAE and over a million expatriate Pakistanis were contributing in the development of UAE." Durrani added: "UAE is Pakistan's largest trading partner within the Gulf Region with USD9 billion annual trade." He highlighted the UAE leadership for providing a conducive working environment to expatriate Pakistanis who feel UAE as their second home. Pakistani investors ranked third among foreign buyers of property in the emirate's transactions, which worth USD31.03 billion in 2013.
