(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Israeli military ships violated Lebanese territorial waters at Ras Al-Naqoura in the south, the Lebanese Army said Monday.
Israeli boats were seen 20 meters inside Lebanese waters, the Lebanese army said in a statement, but did not provided further details on the incident.
Recently, tension were high after the discovery of oil and gas east of the Mediterranean sea, which forced Lebanon to file compliant wiht the UN against Israeli seizure of 680 kilometers of Lebanese waters.
Earlier, Lebanese President Michel Suleiman requested through Foreign Minister Jebran Basil to deliver the complaint to UN Security Council, in order to protect Lebanese sovereignty from Israeli repeated aggressions and maintain Lebanese security and stability.
