(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) E 29-year-old indian defendant was charged with murder and drinking liquor in the court of first instance.a cook allegedly stabbed his colleague to death at the latter’s birthday party following a verbal brawl in dubai a court heard. the 29-year-old indian defendant was charged with murder and drinking liquor in the court of first instance.the defendant admitted to the charges in the prosecution investigation. a 35-year-old indian waiter who witnessed the incident said the victim threw a birthday party at his studio flat in al baraha area in al muraqqabat on december 16 last year.“after almost everybody left the victim bad-mouthed the defendant’s brother and his parents for not attending the party.” the defendant became furious after this. “we were eating when the accused came back about ten minutes later and stabbed the victim in his abdomen. he tried to stab him again but i stopped him.”other guests at the flat managed to control the defendant. the victim who was bleeding profusely succumbed to his injuries at a city hospital later.an indian worker who lived in the same building said he reached his flat around 9.50am. “i heard loud voices and people fighting and things being smashed. then i saw a man (the victim) walking out with his abdomen wide open. the victim collapsed on his back in the corridor.” this witness entered the flat and helped others restrain the defendant. “i pulled the knife from his hand and put it away and called the police.”the forensic expert said the victim died because of a deep stab wound in his stomach inflicted with a big knife.mary?khaleejtimes.com
