(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The 14th edition of Airport Show to be held in Dubai from May 11 to 13 will be an ideal platform for aviation industry professionals to explore the latest innovations and breakthrough technology with several global exhibitors utilizing the B2B event to launch a wide range of products and solutions.

Dubai's iconic airports-focused exhibition will offer visitors glimpses into technology- enabled transformations in the aviation industry and provides an opportunity to regional airports and aviation infrastructure players to explore the rapid technological advancement to face tough competition, increase efficiencies and deliver better passenger experiences.

For the Middle East airports aiming to handle 400mn passengers by 2020, technology is a way out to emerge as successful aviation hubs of the 21st century. From the latest aircraft ground energy systems to cutting-edge solutions in baggage handling and the newest trends for aircraft individual identification, Airport Show will showcase over 20 new products and technologies at the 2014 edition.

The Airport Show-2014 will take place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al Maktoum, president of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), chairman of Dubai Airports and chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline and Group. Global Airport Leaders' Forum (GALF) and Travel Catering Expo (TCE) are co-located events.

This year's Show will take place on 12,000sq m of gross exhibition space with 250 exhibitors from 35 countries, six national pavilions and over 100 hosted buyers. In 2013, the show attracted about 6,500 visitors. Daniyal Qureshi, group exhibitions director, Reed Exhibitions Middle East, organisers of Airport Show, said, ''The Airport Show has remained an ideal platform for global industry players to introduce the latest products for the benefit of regional airport decision-makers looking for cutting-edge technology and innovation.''

''About US40bn in airport developments are taking place in the region requiring a massive technology support. ''The breathtaking array of new products is expected to generate wider interest among industry professionals across the region. At the show, one will get a big picture of current technological advancements and what lies in the future,'' he added.
