Libya denies reported departure of Arab, Western diplomats

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Libyan Foreign Ministry denied reports that Arab and Western diplomats have left for neighboring Tunisia because of the security situation in Tripoli, and recent abductions of Jordan's Ambassador and a Tunisian diplomat. All Arab and Western diplomats are carrying out their duties in their embassies normally, a ministry spokesman said in a statement Saturday. He, however, said the diplomats, like many other Libyans, travel to the Djerba during the weekend. The spokesman said many diplomats left Tripoli for Tunisia last Thursday because it was a long weekend.
