Kuwait- Cabinet okays agreements with several countries


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The cabinet reviewed and approved a number of draft decrees of cooperation agreements with several friendly countries in its weekly meeting held at Seif Palace Monday. The pacts' approval came after deliberations and upon recommendations of the Legal Affairs Committee, said Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah following the meeting. The cabinet, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, endorsed three agreements with Ukraine, Turkey and Greece on mutual exemption of entry visa for holders of diplomatic, service and special passports. It also ratified memoranda of understanding for cooperation on political dialogue and national development with Japan; on labor and employment and workforce development with Sri Lanka; on environment and sustainable development with Algeria; on investment with Pakistan; and on Awqaf and Islamic Affairs with Senegal. The cabinet gave the green light for four agreements on air service cooperation with Malta, Albania, Slovenia and Armenia. It also okayed a memorandum of understanding with the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) on economic and social development of women. The ministers were also briefed on the letters addressed to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah from Tunisian President Mohamed Moncef Marzouki; Turkish President Abdullah Gul; British Prime Minister David Cameron; and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa. The letters focused on bilateral relations and means to strengthen them in all domains. The cabinet endorsed the appointment of Jawad Saud as a member in the board of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports and of Khalifa Ajeel as a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Capital Markets Authority. It then discussed the main issues on the agenda of the coming National Assembly sessions. The ministers debated the latest political developments in the Arab regional and on the international level arena.
