MENA Transport, Congress, Exhibition kicks off in Dubai


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Middle East and North AFrica (MENA) Transport Congress and Exhibition 2014 was opened in Dubai on Sunday, an event attended by Gulf and Arab ministers, and around 400 participants from 25 countries. The Middle East region is looking forward for promising USD 100 billion worth of public transportation projects, Mattar Al-Tayer, Chairman of Board and Executive Director of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), said in a speech at the opening of the event, held under patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. He said the congress was a suitable venue for meetings between officials and transport experts to exchange views over challenges facing sustainable transportation coupled with preserving of environment. Qatari and Jordanian Ministers of Transport, Jassem Al-Sulaiti and Lina Shabib respectively, said the congress would contribute to improving public transport and their infrastructure.
