Kuwait- Sheikh Salman affirms respect of MPs' right to direct constitutional questions


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah Sunday affirmed his respect of MPs' right to direct questions to the ministers in line with the constitution. He said the Islamic Book Fair included some books that were not permitted by the Information Ministry "and we adopted the legal measure in line with the (publication) law" of of 2006. Sheikh Salman was answering questions by reporters regarding the illegal publications in the Islamic Book Fair, on sidelines of the Arab Media Forum that was opened earlier today under the auspices of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. On the suspension of newspapers, Sheikh Salman said the ministry of information's action was in compliance with the law "which should be respected." The minister called for revising the publication law.
