(MENAFN- The Peninsula) International Bank of Qatar (IBQ), for the sixth consecutive year, sponsored the 2013-2014 edition of the Emir's Cup, where the Bank also presented a mega cheque to the "Best Shooter" in the championship.
The final ceremony, attended by a representative from IBQ, took place on April 25 when Al Gharafa beat El Jaish in the title clash at Al Gharafa Indoor Hall.
The Emir Cup is one of most prestigious and highly awaited basketball events on Qatar's sports calendar.
It brings together 10 teams to battle it out for the title the championship bringing together aspiring sports talents from Qatar.
In the final last Friday, Al Gharafa beat El Jaish 89-87.

Despite trailing for most of the title clash, Al Gharafa relied on a feisty show late in the fourth quarter against El Jaish to win the Emir Cup title.
Playing on home venue, Al Gharafa won 89-87 for what was their third major trophy in the 2013-14 season. Earlier this season, Al Gharafa won the National League title followed by the Qatar Cup trophy.
