Kuwait 4th on medals count at Arab Youth Athletics


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Iro april 26 (kuna): kuwait came fourth on the medals count ? two gold and two bronze ? at the arab youth athletics championships which ended in cairo on saturday. the last day of events at the competition which hosted some 500 young male and female athletes from 14 arab countries saw two bronze medals achieved mubarak qanbar in the men's long jump and mishal al-mutairi in the men's 200m sprint. al-mutairi added to his tally of medals having earlier been capped a gold-medalist in the 100m with the remaining gold clinched by khaled al-subaiei in the men's triple jump.

on behalf of the athletes head of the kuwait team delegation saleh al-marri said that the medals are dedicated to his highness the amir of kuwait sheikh sabah al-ahmad al-jaber al-sabah his highness the crown prince sheikh nawaf al-ahmad al-jaber al-sabah and the kuwaiti people. the squad are confident they will be winning more medals in upcoming competitions particularly the west asian championships in manama bahrain next month he added.
