(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) The defendant?s father told the court that his daughter took the cannabis which he claimed was ?medicinal? upon medical prescription as she suffered from some disorders.

the british woman was arrested on february 23 by the jebel ali police on the charge of using hashish.
the defendant’s father told the court that his daughter took the cannabis which he claimed was ‘medicinal’ upon medical prescription as she suffered from some disorders. he also requested presiding judge izzat abdullah mansour to assign a specialist to assess his daughter’s condition.
a police lieutenant of the nti-narcotics department said during the prosecution investigation that he was assigned with arresting the accused after they were tipped off that she possessed a quantity of drugs which she was using.
“we had a prosecution warrant issued to search and arrest her. we went to the jumeirah palm island because we learnt that the defendant was there. we had a woman police corporal with us.” the lieutenant said that they found and arrested the accused but no drugs were found on her or in her place.
according to the crime lab report traces of hashish were found in the defendant’s urine sample. the report said those traces were from the use of hashish or marijuana and not from any medical substance.
