post her stupendous performance in queen can anyone afford to miss kangana in a movie? she has rightfully inherited the space vidya balan was in after the success of the dirty picture. this is one actress who has managed to consistently deliver more than what audiences have come to expect.for a change here comes a movie where it is not the female but the male who occupies the ‘eye candy’ role. no offence to vir das who shares screen space with kangana in the movie but from the trailer it seems vir das plays ‘toy boy’ to kangana’s more dominating and aggressive character. after watching a zillion movies where the women are treated as objects of lust it will make for a refreshing change to see a male occupy the same spot. as one release puts it “in one scene kangana is arrested and is on her way to jail. she requests for some time to attend to an urgent matter and drags vir das to a room and kisses him so wildly that his lips start bleeding! no actress till date has portrayed such a ‘manizing character’ till date.” (‘manizing’ as in the female version of ‘womanizing’ get it?)we last saw parineeti chopra wielding a gun with elan in ishaqzaade (2012) though eventually she went on to become one of the most regressive female characters to come out of bollywood. seeing kangana spotting a gun with as much ease as a socialite carries a designer bag is not to be missed we reckon.after sitting through a lot of city flicks it will be good to see a movie which showcases the rustic appeal of chambal valley. playing a character who commits her first murder at the age of seven the movie was shot in villages where every family owns a gun. the actress plays a blood thirsty character who becomes vulnerable when she finds love.with subash ghai’s kaanchi with newcomers mishti and kartik being the only other bollywood movie releasing this weekend in the uae is there a doubt audience will opt for revolver raani? what last weekend’s release 2 states couldn’t achieve maybe kangana can deliver.
