U.S fuel exports up 10 pct in 2013


(MENAFN) Energy Information Administration said in a report that the US exported about 3.5 million barrel per day (bpd) of petroleum products in 2013, increasing 10 percent year-on-year, Xinhua reported. US exports of petroleum products in December hit 4.3 million bpd, exceeding 4 million bpd for the first time in one month, the agency noted. Diesel fuels and fuel oil exports reached over 1.1 million bpd, increasing by 110,000 bpd from 2012. According to the EIA, the US imports of petroleum products registered 2.1 million bpd last year despite the increase in exports. These import figures are currently on the decline, the EIA said.
