UAE- Dewa and GE explore collaboration opportunities


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Saeed mohammed al tayer managing director and chief executive officer of the dubai electricity and water authority (dewa) recently received a ge delegation to explore possible collaboration opportunities.

the delegation consisted of mohammed mohaisen ceo of power generation products & services sales for ge middle east; zaher ibrahim general manager of power generation services sales for ge middle east; and tarek said general manager of sales power generation gulf & east mediterranean region for ge.

the two parties discussed the various areas of cooperation and reviewed the dubai integrated energy strategy 2030 which aims to reduce energy by 30 per cent by 2030 and diversify the energy mix so that by 2030 five per cent will be generated from solar energy 24 per cent for both clean coal and nuclear energy 71 per cent from natural gas.

al tayer discussed the future plans of dewa to strengthen its electricity and water infrastructure across dubai the fast-paced developments in the field of renewable energy and energy generation and the significant steps taken to attract the latest technologies and solutions in this sector.

he stressed the importance of cooperation with private sector partners to further enhance the electricity and water infrastructure of dubai in line with global best practices and the highest standards. the ge delegation reviewed the solutions and techniques in renewable energy technology and the latest research findings in the field.
