Dubai boosts trade ties with the Americas


(MENAFN) Dubai"s trade with emerging countries in the Americas, such as Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Chile, has boosted by 26 percent in 2013 to reach USD4.709 billion compared to USD3.757 billion in 2012, according to the Emirates 24/7. Dubai Customs said that the UAE is making a great success in improving growth of trade with the four countries. Dubai-Mexico trade increased 56 percent USD2.20 billion in 2013. Imports from Mexico got the highest value with phone devices representing USD1.034 billion, followed by cargo transport vehicles reaching USD4628 million. Dubai"s trade with Chile also increased 34 percent, reaching USD225.15 million in 2013. Major imports included milk, timber, and fruits like apple and pear.
