GCC Youth, Sport officials approve important recommendations


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) GCC Youth and Sport ministries' Undersecretaries met in Kuwait Sunday and approved a number recommendations and proposals that will be presented to the ministers in their upcoming 28th meeting, due Tuesday. The undersecretaries were keen on approving practical recommendations that will use the energies of youth in proper ways, Acting Undersecretary of Kuwait's Ministry of State for Youth Affairs Dr. Fawaz Al-Husainan said in a statement. Al-Hasainan added that the meeting called for uniting GCC action, particularly in youth field to unleash youths' creativity and innovation for a better future. The meeting focused on launching a media project for GCC youth coupled with an awareness campaign to confront the dangers of drugs, violence, and reckless driving. Al-Hasainan noted that the project aimed at embracing the youth as a national wealth. The official said the meeting also dealt with GCC youth voluntary and humanitarian work, including viable contribution to spread positive culture heritage that is rooted in history. Participants in the meeting praised the historic role of Kuwait in charity led by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who was recently honored by the UN for his leading humanitarian role, Al-Hasainan added. For his part, GCC Assistant Secretary General for Human and Environment Dr. Abdullah Al-Hashem called on the youth and sport ministries to honor aspirations of the GCC youths.
