(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) In a freak accident, a 39 year old Indian expatriate died after being run over by his own car driven by a friend, in Jaalan Bani Bu Ali, South Sharqiyah, on Friday.
Family of the victim, identified only as P V, said he was on the Ruwaiz beach with his friends when he stepped in front of the car to stop his friend from driving it. The friend accidentally stepped on the accelerator instead of the brakes.
P V was taken to the Jaalan Bani Bu Ali hospital where doctors declared him ‘brought dead', relatives said. His body is in the hospital morgue and procedures to repatriate it have been initiated.
He hailed from Kannur in the southern Indian state of Kerala and worked for a construction firm in the sultanate. He is survived by his wife and a child.
