GCAA discusses air traffic management


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The air traffic management (atm) modernisation symposium in abu dhabi recently shed the light on the latest developments in the air traffic management arena including future market forecasts and atm modernisation status.

organised by airbus prosky the symposium was inaugurated by the general civil aviation authority represented by ahmed al jallaf assistant director general of air navigation services.

in his opening speech al jallaf said: “it is indeed an honour for the uae aviation community to host this symposium and we are sure that it will carry out fruitful discussions bringing many useful experiences and models of excellence.”

he highlighted that the aviation industry in the uae contributes significantly to the uae economy directly and indirectly. “the air traffic of the country has witnessed a steady growth; and is expected to continue its growth. with 2200 air traffic movements managed today in our small sized airspace we are forecasting to reach more than 4600 daily air traffic movements by 2030. it is expected that hosting the expo2020 will definitely have a big impact on these predictions” he said.
