Kuwait- 'Selfish' woman loses custody of estate

(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Court of First Instance sanctioned the decision of a Kuwaiti citizen to retrieve the estate he had given to his former wife by deleting her name from the Real Estate Registration Department due to alleged infidelity and discontinuity of marital relations through divorce

According to the plaintiff counsel Lawyer Ali Al- Asfour, his client naturalized his Arab wife after their marriage and gave her half of his estate. However, he was shocked when her attitude changed later and she became troublesome and unfaithful. She created many problems for him, and used the documents he gave her to claim huge amounts of money from him and file a divorce

Lawyer Al-Asfour expressed his appreciation for the judicial decision, saying it stood firm against opportunism whereby some people think others are stupid and capitalize on their kindness to exploit them. He affirmed that the woman exposed her motives for marrying his client, which were solely for monetary gain and obtaining Kuwaiti citizenship, forgetting that the law would take its course one day
