Qatar- Muntajat promotes petrochem industry at GPCA PlastiCon

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company (Muntajat) represented Qatar's downstream industry at the just-concluded PlastiCon 2014, the International Conference for Plastic Conversion, and Plastivision 2014, the International Plastics, Printing and Packaging Exhibition and conference, held in Sharjah

The annual GPCA PlastiCon 2014 conference, now in its fifth edition, was held on April 7 to April 9. Muntajat returned to the regional event with a larger delegation to represent Qatar at the forum that is focused on highlighting the key role of plastic innovation in market and product development

Exhibiting at Plastivision, Muntajat showcased Qatar's polymer products to customers and industry stakeholders from around the world during the exhibition that ran in conjunction with PlastiCon.

Commenting on the company's participation, Abdulrahman Ali Al Abdulla, CEO of Muntajat, said: "This is our second participation in PlastiCon and our first time exhibiting at Plastivision and we are delighted with the positive feedback and relations we have established. Our participation at both events reinforced Qatar's position in the plastics industry and introduced the value proposition of Qatar's chemical, polymer and fertiliser products to customers and peers in the region.

"Muntajat understands the role that plastic plays in daily life, and with global plastics consumption predicted to rise by 4 percent per year until 2016, we are well positioned to capitalise on opportunities to meet global growing demand," said Al Abdulla

The migration of marketing, sales and distribution activities for QAPCO and Qatofin's LDPE and LLDPE to Muntajat was accomplished in July 2013, increasing the company's portfolio to 90 percent of Qatar's chemical and petrochemical production

Muntajat is delivering on its promise to be the gateway for Qatar's chemical and petrochemical products. The company has shipped more than 9.2 million tonnes of chemicals, polymers and fertilisers produced in the State of Qatar to more than 80 countries around the world since the beginning of the products transition in February 2013
