Nikon to open first photography school in Oman, third in region

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Nikon will be opening its first photography school in Oman in about six months.

''We are gearing up for the launch of the school in Oman. It will be the third in the region. The first one was launched in UAE last year at the GITEX exhibition where we got good response,'' said Narendra Menon, regional sales manager, Nikon Middle East.

The school will have Nikon-certified faculty. Those enrolling for the beginner course will be introduced to the world of Digital SLR photography and will be taught various aspects of photography such as lenses and other accessories.

''The Omani market is growing. People nowadays prefer a DSLR and are keen on buying it. Earlier our target customers were only professional photographers but now we are aiming at mass consumption. Our partnership with Khimji Ramdas has also shown growth. Our school will not only help hone photography skills of professionals but will also impart training to amateurs and provide practical lessons,'' Menon added.

Nikon School has branches across the world including in the US, UK, South Africa, Australia, India and Malaysia.
