Kuwait- Camel Racing organizers express readiness to host 14th camel tourney


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The organizing committee for the 14th Camel Racing tournament expressed readiness Tuesday to host the great heritage event, which kicks off in Kuwait next Sunday with local and foreign participation

The five-day tournament which is being held for the 14th consecutive year has been a great success, and is considered one of the most prominent sport tournaments that embodies heritage of "our our parents and grandparents of the past in the Arabian region," Kuwait Camel Racing Club''''s Secretary and Director of the tournament Rabih Al-Ajmi said in a press conference Tuesday

Al-Ajmi said the tournament would witness 70 competition

Al-Ajmi added participating teams started to arrive in the country, and camels from GCC and Arab countries are divided into various categories

The official stated that 64 cars were allocated as prizes for the winners of big races, noting that the Grand Prize will be a golden sword presented by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on final day of the tournament

Al-Ajmi explained that the organizing committee has completed preparations of Martyr Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah track that will be hosting all the races, calling on all camel owners to complete registrations

For his part, the President of the opening and closing ceremony for the tournament Abdullah Al-Mutairi said that the organizing committee has prepared a special festival in honor of state officials and foreign guests, calling on the public to attend the tournament and enjoy the diverse racing events
