MENA plans USD316 b investments in power projects


(MENAFN) The Middle East and North Africa (Mena) will invest USD316 billion on power projects in four years to 2019, according to the Emirates 24/7



The plan aims to cover the region's growing demand on electricity and more than a third of the funds could come from six Gulf oil producers



The projects are predicted to provide installed capacity with more than 156 Giga Watts of which 43 percent will be added by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)



However, regional countries may face challenges in executing such massive projects, including fuel availability and access to funding
