(MENAFN - Arab Times) Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) ended last week in the various zone. The Price Index closed at 7,572.47 points, down by 0.16% from the week before closing, the Weighted Index increased by 1.64% after closing at 494.69 points, whereas the KSX-15 Index closed at 1,214.24 points up by 1.71%. Furthermore, last week's average daily turnover increased by 2.93%, compared to the preceding week, reaching K.D 33.86 million, whereas trading volume average was 215.11 million shares, recording increase of 12.95%



In addition, the Weighted Index and KSX-15 Index continued its gains for the third consecutive week, supported by the optimism state that is controlling many of the traders during this period, and pushed them to execute a wide purchasing operations, concentrated on the listed leading and operational stocks, which positively affected both indices, especially the KSX-15 Index, that continued to realize record numbers supported by the noticeable increases gained over the last three weeks. On the contrary, the Price Index went against the current, ending the weekly trading in the red zone, affected by the profit collection operations that were performed on the small-cap stocks, and concentrated on the stocks of previous gains



Moreover, last week witnessed the end of the legal disclosure period given for the listed companies to disclose their 2013 financial results, where most of the companies announced theirs, and very limited number of companies' stocks were stopped for not announcing their results, which enhanced the market optimism state. For the annual performance, the price index ended last week recording 0.30% annual profit compared to its closing in 2013, while the weighted index increased by 9.24%, and the KSX-15 recorded 13.65% growth




Sectors' Indice

Five of KSE's sectors ended last week in the green zone, while the other seven recorded declines. The Banking sector headed the gainers list as its index grew by 1.50% to end the week's activity at 1,129.63 points. The Basic Materials sector was second on the gainer's list, which index increased by 1.26%, closing at 1,178.50 points, followed by the Consumer Goods, as its index closed at 1,275.09 points at an increase of 0.99%. The Telecommunications sector was the least growing sector as its index closed at 869.47 points with a 0.51% increase. On the other hand, the Technology sector headed the losers list as its index down by 1.76% to end the week's activity at 1,018.89 points. Follow by Insurance as its index down by 1.08% to end the week's activity at 1,116.19 points. The Health Care sector the least declining sector as its index closed at 1,119.49 points with a 0.40% decrease



Sectors' Activit

The Financial Services sector dominated total trade volume during last week with 454.22 million shares changing hands, representing 42.23% of the total market trading volume. The Real Estate sector was second in terms of trading volume as the sector's traded shares were 27.97% of last week's total trading volume, with a total of 300.78 million shares. On the other hand, the Banking sector's stocks were the highest traded in terms of value; with a turnover of K.D 54.82 million or 32.38% of last week's total market trading value. The Financial Services sector took the second place as the sector's last week turnover was K.D 37.99 million represented 22.44% of the total market trading value
