Bahraini Councillors approve USD145.1 m resort


(MENAFN) Bahrain has announced its plan to construct USD145.1 million worth tourist resort opposite Muharraq"s Arad Fort, according to Arabian Business



Councillors have approved the project despite despite opposition to the plans on the grounds that the project will be built on land that has yet to be reclaimed and could harm the protected Arad Bay.



The resort will include a hotel, luxurious villas and a traditional Bahraini marketplace surrounded by natural scenery



Area councillor Ali Al Muqla disputed claims about the environmental impact of the resort
