Qatar- 40,000 visit jewellery expo


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) This year's Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition attracted 40,000 visitors to stands offering over 500 well-known brands, said organisers.



The value of all pieces on display exceeded QR600m, they added



The six-day annual event by Qatar Tourism Authority in partnership with q.media events and Fira Barcelona, was held for the first time at Qatar National Convention Centre.



One of the highlights was daily catwalks which entertained visitors as dazzling diamonds and sophisticated watches were showcased.



There were also celebrity appearances by Lebanese born singer, fashion icon and brand ambassador to Voyaeur, Maya Diab, and Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton, brand ambassador for IWC Schaffhausen.



International brands included Mouawad Jewellery, Al Zain Trading, Christie's Jewellery and David Webb



Featured also was home-grown brand Qatar Luxury Group.



The brand, which has international reach, debuted its most recent creations in precious metals and gemstones.



Their lines, which took inspiration from Qatar's tranquil and vibrant landscapes, were a reminder of the beauty that exists in the country.
