Qatar- DFI to screen four German films as part of Perspektive Kino


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha Film Institute (DFI) will present Perspektive Kino, a four-film series featuring a selection of recent German movies from April 10 to 12 at Katara Drama Theatre



The event is organised in partnership with the Austrian, German and Swiss embassies in a spirit of cultural exchange to celebrate cinematic excellence



It will open at 8pm with Barbara (Germany, 2012) by Christian Petzold, winner of the Silver Bear for Best Director at the 2012 Berlinale.



The movie tells the story of a doctor working in East Germany in 1980s who finds herself banished to a small country hospital



Other titles include Austrian-German film The Wall (2011) by Julian Pِlsler on April 11 at 7pm, The Beekeeper (2013) from Switzerland by Mano Khalil on April 12 at 7pm and the family- oriented The Little Ghost (2013) by Alain Gsponer, a co-production between Switzerland and Germany. The screening of The Little Ghost will feature a special Q&A with the director on April 12 at 4pm.

Tickets for single screenings are QR35 per person and QR25 per student. A special Kino ticket package is available for QR80 which includes one ticket to each film
