Oman's Salalah port emerges as one of best ports in region


(MENAFN) Oman's Salalah Port has emerged as one of the region's best ports to receive goods and container ships, Times of Oman reported



The port's container terminal handled 3.3 million containers last year, while the pot terminal handled 7.9 million tons of goods



The port is currently directly linked to 54 ports around that globe. It also engages ships in short tips and re-shipping of container goods to markets in East Africa, India and the GCC countries



Salalah Port receives 3,000 ships of various types annually. In 2014, 34 cruise ships visited the port, bringing 25,400 tourists
