(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Qatar has become a role model in religious coexistence and tolerance, Dr. Mohamed Elsanousi, director of Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) in Washington said.
Elsanousi made the remarks as he spoke to QNA on the sidelines of the Doha executive meeting to promote religious freedom and inter-religious cooperation in the framework of the follow-up initiative of Istanbul 16/18 to combat intolerance and discrimination based on religio
He said Qatar's wise leadership is pushing forward the issue of inter-religious dialogue, noting that ISNA is working closely with Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID) in this regard and to support followers of the different religions to practice their right
He added that Qatar has proved its keenness on inter-religious dialogue and religious tolerance not only by establishing DICID but also as its visitors and residents practice their religious rights and rituals freely and without restrictions
