SRO had earlier announced that the project will be completed by the end of 2015
Speaking to the Saudi Gazette, the president said: "Only 50 percent of the project has been completed so far.
The railway line will connect the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah through Jeddah at a cost of around USD14 billion
