Emirates Airlines to cancel Philippines route

(MENAFN) Dubai-based Emirates Airlines announced that it intends to scrap a daily service to a key air hub in the Philippines, Arabian Business reported

The carrier will stop daily flights to Clark International Airport in the Philippines starting from May 1, seven months after the route was launched

A company spokesperson told Arabian Business: "Emirates can confirm that it is suspending its daily, non-stop service between Clark International Airport and Dubai from 1st May 2014. The decision was made after a review of the airline's operations to ensure the best utilisation of its aircraft fleet for its overall business objectives.

Several other carriers including Dubai's Emirates, Abu Dhabi's Etihad and three Filipino carriers had overwhelmed the market despite of the huge traffic between the two countries
