Three Palestinians including commander killed in Israeli raid


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Three Palestinians were killed and 15 others were wounded in a firefight with Israeli troops in Jenin north of the West Bank early on Saturday, according to local radios



The deaths were inflicted when an Israeli force burst into Jenin camp, he radios said, adding that the trio who lost their life were members of the Islamic groups, Hamas and Islamic Jihad



Among the dead was Hamza Abul-Haija, a commander of Izz-Eddine Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing, and son of the imprisoned activist, Jamal Abul-Haija. He was surrounded by the Israeli troops at his home, but he refused to surrender and was shot dead when he attempted to flee



At least three of the camp residents were nabbed and taken away, they said, adding that a large number of the Palestinians suffered suffocation from tear gas hurled by the occupation forces during the raid



Israel Radio confirmed the operation was aimed at nabbing Abul-Haija on charges of attacking the Israeli troops.
