(MENAFN-Khaleej Times) a labourer who had been involved in many trespassing and molestation cases was sentenced to three months in jail on thursday in one case
He was found guilty of trespassing into a villa and molesting a woman at a late night hour.
The bangladeshi defendant 26 earlier denied the charges and claimed in court he did not know the location of the villa and that he had been charged in about five other similar cases. the court of first instance also ordered his deportation after serving his jail time.
The complainant a 44-year-old russian housewife said as she slept alone in her room on the upper floor of her villa. she woke up after she felt someone touching her. “at first i thought that my son came to sleep by my side but when the hand touched my thigh i opened my eyes and saw a stranger on his knees next to my bed.” the woman sat up immediately and screamed.
A police sergeant said they arrested the defendant based on the woman’s descriptions of the intruder. “we received in october last year several complaints from residents in the green community in dubai investment park in jebel ali that women were being molested by trespassers.” the police arrested him after a security guard saw him one night running away and identified him later from the pictures of suspects shown to him.
The police found that most residents gave similar descriptions of the intruders. “the accused was arrested at some point in connection with another trespassing and molestation case. he was released later for lack of evidence. while he was detained no such incidents were reported” the sergeant said. what raised the suspicion was soon after his release 14 complaints of trespassing were filed at the jebel ali police station.
