Qatar International Food Festival Opens at MIA Thursday


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The fifth annual Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF), opening here Thursday at the Museum of Islamic Art premises, will showcase celebrity chefs, food artists and live music, organisers said. Qatar Tourism Authority and Qatar Airways are hosting the four-day food festival on MIA's scenic waterfront promenade. The hosts have planned a wide range of exciting and entertaining acts this year. Qatar Airways Cooking Theatre will feature cooking demonstrations from award-winning celebrity Chef Ramzi Choueri and local Chef Aysha Al Tamimi who specializes in Qatari cuisine. A number of chefs specializing in Brazilian, Italian and International cuisine will also be giving demonstrations in the cooking theatre. All chefs will entertain visitors with the culinary demonstrations daily. Musical entertainment includes renditions by Doha Jazz, violinist Soledad and local musician Tarek Sidani. A number of new acts will be joining the festivities including multicultural, tanoura and break dancers, a short film by Doha Film Institute, a light show, light painting, pizza art, a food comic, a Carnaval show and the popular characters from the children's show, Baraem, organisers said. Coming back for the second consecutive year is the dinner in the sky. Visitors seeking to add excitement and adventure to their dining experience can enjoy a three-course meal catered by a top hotel from 40 metres above the ground.
