Qatari Relief Aid Distributed to Syrian Refugees in Lebanon


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) have distributed Qatari humanitarian aid to the Syrian refugees in Friesian in Mount Lebanon Governorate. This aid was distributed to more than 50 Syrian families. The aid included heaters and plastic rain covers in addition to personal and household hygiene kits. Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) had pledged, under an agreement with UNHCR, to provide relief worth $20 million for Syrian families which have sought refuge in Lebanon. Under the agreement signed on December 23, QRCS will provide 24,000 heaters, 120,000 blankets, 120,000 mattresses, 120,000 hygiene kits, 12m litres of heating fuel and 48,000 waterproof plastic covers.
