(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The Entrepreneurship's role on Economic Development forum , being hosted by Qatar University (QU) in collaboration with Interactive Business Network (IBN), began sessions here Monday .
The two-day forum brings together a set of international speakers and experts in business, education, finance and government officials , policy makers, economists, financial institutions, banks, entrepreneurs and economic and academic institutions operating in the field of training
Addressing the opening ceremony of the forum, Dr. Sheikha al-Misnad, the president of Qatar University, lauded the role of entrepreneurship in economic development , investment process , technological and economic development , stressing however the need to upgrade the spirit and culture of entrepreneurship in business communities and economies of the Gulf and Arab states , especially the new young generation , who are preparing themselves to enter the realm of work and activities
She stressed the need to strengthen and develop the entrepreneurship sector in the State of Qatar and the Arab world, saying the forum aims to draw these methods and benefit from entrepreneurs' successful experiences in this are
Addressing the opening ceremony HE Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani , the chairman of the Qatari Bussinessmen Association said that the State of Qatar and the Gulf states in general, had made great progress during the past two decades in the modernization and expansion of its basic infrastructure , social development ,upgrading the investment environment and providing all means of supporting private sector activitie
In his address delivered on his behalf by his son HE Mohammed bin Faisal, who is one the young entrepreneurs, HE Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani also stressed that the strong and active private sector is essential for building a diversified economic base and capable to absorb fluctuations and providing stability and economic flexibility in the markets
