Qatar's tourism spend to hit USD45b by 2030


(MENAFN) Qatar"s tourism spend is expected to hit USD45 billion by 2030 as a part of the country"s National Tourism Sector Strategy 2030, Arabian Business reported



Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) chairman said: "Tourism is an untapped resource. Turning Qatar towards a tourism economy is the first step after oil and gas.



The chairman added that the Gulf nation is committed to developing a sustainable tourism and hospitality sector as it targets more than seven million visitors by 2030



The strategy also aims at increasing the tourism sector"s contribution to the country"s gross domestic product from less than one percent to over three percent by 2030
