Two premieres at Qatar Motor Show

(MENAFNEditorial) As one of the key motoring events in the Middle East, Qatar Motor Show attracted more than 150,000 car lovers and trade professionals last year and served as a stage for Audi's latest innovations. Representative of an entire new A8 model lineup, Audi revealed the Audi A8 L and surprised with the Middle East premiere of the Audi nanuk quattro concept show car. This year's Motor Show is taking place from February 21-25 at the Qatar National Convention Centre.

Also present on the stand were the customer favorites Audi Q3, Q5 and Q7 - Audi's SUV range – as well as the sports sedan Audi RS 7 and the Audi S3 sedan.

Audi had only recently announced a historic record year in terms of sales with a total of 10,647 cars sold and intends to maintain the momentum with further model introductions in the region in 2014, explains Trevor Hill, Managing Director of Audi Middle East. "With the new models revealed today, we still have several surprises for Audi fans to look forward to this year.

With the reveal of the new Audi A8 range, Audi presented one of its most innovative leaders in the luxury segment. Audi has exhaustively updated its A8 flagship. New assistance systems and the innovative Matrix LED headlights make for even more superior driving. Audis innovative Matrix LED comprises 25 small, individual light-emitting diodes per unit that can be switched on and off or dimmed individually as needed. This enables the headlight system to react to oncoming or preceding vehicles and blank out light with great precision while continuing to fully illuminate the rest of the road.

The Audi A8 range is available with four different engines: 50 TFSI with 310 hp, 60 TFSI with 435 hp, W12 FSI with 500 hp and the S8 TFSI with 520 hp.

The new Audi A8 is scheduled to arrive at dealerships in the Middle East in the first quarter of 2014. Despite the more generous list of equipment and more powerful engines, prices vary only slightly. The new Audi A8 L will be available with a starting price of US$ 88,452, US$ 149,727 for the A8 L W12 and US$ 130,121 for the S8

Sportiness in a new form – Audi presented the Audi nanuk quattro concept show car for the first time at the IAA in Frankfurt am Main in 2013 and now exclusively in the Middle East at the Qatar Motor Show. Its crossover concept combines the dynamics of a high-performance sports car with Audi's quattro expertise on the road, on the race track and also off-road. The V10 TDI engine sets benchmarks for power and efficiency. The two-seater is powered by a newly developed V10 TDI installed longitudinally in front of the rear axle. The powerful 5.0-liter diesel engine produces over 544 hp and delivers 1,000 Nm of torque to the crankshaft from just 1,500 rpm
