(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Four policemen were killed and six others were wounded in clashes with insurgents north of the Iraqi City of Tikrit, a police source said on Saturday.
The confrontations and clashes broke out in the area of al-Siniya in Baiji (40 km) north of Tikrit since yesterday evening and lasted until the early hours of this morning between gunmen and police forces resulted in the killing of four policemen and wounding six others, National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) reported.
A curfew was imposed in al-Siniya and additional forces were send to the area, in preparation for a security operation to track down the militants according to NINA.
