The UAE Football Association (Uaefa) has received a letter from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) wherein the continental football governing body confirmed that UAE midfielder Omer Abdul Rahman was eligible to play for the UAE national teams in all their appearances in the different tournaments over the last few years.

Abdul Rahman who was born on September 20, 1991 is one of the most outstanding UAE players who possesses a lot of talent and skills. He has won the national league with his club Al Ain in the last two seasons and has attracted the attention of the international media after the country’s historic qualification to the 2012 London Games.

In 2010, he won with the squad the Asian Games silver medal and the 21st Gulf Cup in Bahrain 2013. The Whites have also qualified to the 2015 Australia AFC Asian Cup finals after the boys in white have won all their five Group-E ties. They will face Uzbekistan in the final round later next month in Tashkent. However, Hong Kong press recently argued that Hong Kong who has finished third in the Group may qualify by default after their FA has challenged the eligibility of Abdul Rahman.
