Oman Oil Company, National Career Guidance Centre award 26 budding entrepreneurs


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman Oil Company (OOC) and the National Career Guidance Centre of the Ministry of Education (MoE) awarded 26 budding entrepreneurs on Monday as part of the Ghaytuh programme, which began in mid-2013.


The ceremony was held under the patronage of H E Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed bin Nassir al Shibaniyah, Minister of Education.


The winners, who were part of four student companies, were from Muscat, Dakhliyah and North Batinah governorates.


The team Blixt Photographs won the Best Student Company, while SGC won the Most Innovative Product/Service award. The award for the Best CSR Initiative was shared by Stop and Shop and Soft Hands Company.


This is the second year of the youth initiative, which is part of OOC's corporate social responsibility programme and aims at encouraging school students of grade nine and above build entrepreneurial skills and develop original business ideas.


''OOC invests in fostering entrepreneurs who will build a promising future for Oman. We are partnering with organisations that can bridge the gap between education and employability,'' said Al Mutasim bin Said al Sariri, corporate social responsibility manager, OOC.
