Oman's Port Salalah cargo volume up 6.5 percent in 2013


(MENAFN) Recently released figures show that the volume of cargo handled by Oman's Port Salalah increased 6.5 percent last year, Times of Oman reported



The figures by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) reveal that the port handled 7.7 million tons of cargo in 2013 versus 7.3 million tons in 2012



NCSI figures show that of the total cargo handled, 6.6 million tons were primarily for loading cargo for export



Also, cargo handled by the Port Sultan Qaboos gained 5.5 percent last year as it handled 5.3 million tons, up from 5.1 million tons in 2012
