(MENAFN - Qatar News Agency) Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Al-Araby received today a telephone call from UN-Arab League Envoy for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi during which they discussed the ongoing Geneva-II talks on Syria.



Speaking to reporters at Cairo airport before leaving to Kuwait, Al-Araby said that he had received a telephone call from Brahimi during which Brahimi expressed his pessimism over reaching a political solution to Syrian crisis after the failure of the government and the opposition to take a positive step over the two rounds of negotiations that began on January 2




He pointed to the possibility of going to the United Nations or the Security Council to take the next step to exert pressure on the two disputing parties to respond to the provisions of the Geneva I documen



Al-Araby is scheduled to pay a three-day visit to Kuwait where he will hold talks with the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on the arrangements of Arab Summit to be held in Kuwait on 25 and 26 Marc
