(MENAFN-Khaleej Times) Diaries reveal Philip Seymour Hoffman?s addiction struggles

Diaries discovered in Philip Seymour Hoffman’s apartment chronicle the Oscar-winning actor’s struggle to stay sober, NBC News reports.

The two diaries were unearthed during a police search of Hoffman’s Greenwich Village apartment. They contain stream of consciousness musings on drug deals, Narcotics Anonymous meetings and personal issues, according to NBC News.Hoffman died of an apparent drug overdose two weeks ago.

The actor attended rehab in 2013 after more than two decades of reportedly remaining clean. Many of the diary entries appear to have been written in an altered state.

“It seems he did at least part of it in rehab,” a source tells NBC. “It definitely contained some soul-searching. But there is also a fair amount of rambling that doesn’t make sense.”
