Kuwait- No Need To Panic Over 'Swine Flu'


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Director General of Sabah Health District Dr Adel Al-Asfour has allayed fears of citizens and expatriates on the recent discovery of swine flu cases in some hospitals, affirming there is no need to panic because all the necessary measures have been taken to protect public health, reports Al- Seyassah daily. Al-Asfour disclosed that cases of swine flu infections are discovered at various times throughout the year, so the authority deals with the cases and discharged patients after treatment without anybody hearing about it. He said the disease has become a normal flu, according to classification of the World Health Organization (WHO)



He confirmed all five cases are undergoing treatment with the supervision of specialists, while the situation is still normal even if the number of patients increased. He said patients with severe conditions are different since they suffered from other ailments that heightened their problems. He cited patients, who had liver transplant in Hamed Al-Essa Center; as well as elderly patients with cancer or low immunity. He added the five patients being discussed in the media have various other health problems, so swine flu is not their major ailment
