(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) According to the prosecution records, the incident happened on January 20 last year, when the 25-year-old Bangladeshi accused allowed himself into the Canadian's girl room inside a villa in the Greens community in Jebel Ali

The accused faced charges including molestation and trespassing into others' property as he stood trial in the Court of First Instance on Thursday

The girl's mother, a 43-year-old Canadian housewife, reported the incident to the police around 3am. "My girl woke up suddenly at night and was shocked by the sight of a stranger in her bedroom. She faked she was asleep. The man messed up with the stuff inside the room and then groped and touched my daughter's back," the mother testified during investigation

The police arrested the defendant shortly later as he matched the descriptions given by the girl

"We were informed about a man wandering around an abandoned villa in the same area the vey next day following the mother's complaint. We took him into custody," a policeman said during the prosecution's investigation

The girl told the investigators that she left her door open while the light was off. "But the main hall's lights were on and I could see well what happened inside the room.

She said she felt the intruder's presence as he sat on her bedside. She panicked as he used his mobile phone's light to see her face

She faked to be asleep and changed her position and that was when the defendant touched her back. He then messed up the stuff inside her room. She ran to wake her mother up as soon as the accused fled the place. The girl added that the intruder spent around 10 minutes in her room

She identified him at the police station as the one who had entered her room that night

The accused admitted, when interrogated, that he had sneaked into the property to see the teenager's face as she slept
