Muscat Airport construction 70 percent complete


(MENAFN) The Omani Minister of Transport and Communications said that around 70 percent of construction work at the new Muscat International Airport has been completed, Arabian Business reported



The minister said: "Over 70 per cent of the work is complete. Some of the works like Main Contract 1 (MC1) and Main Contract 2 (MC2) are nearing completion.



MC1 consists of main civil works for the airport, while MC2 is for the new control tower and data center and MC3 is for construction work for the passenger terminal building



A test flight from the new airport will take place in mid-February, with a flight for the new Salalah Airport scheduled for the end of this month
