Kuwait - Conte reveals Osvaldo pay cut

(MENAFN- Kora) The 28-year-old striker joined the Juve on a loan deal until the end of the season on Friday, having only moved to the Premier League side in August from Roma.

Having not played since mid-December after being handed a two-week suspension late in January following a training-ground incident, Conte believes Osvaldo is eager to contribute to his side's Serie A title push

"We grabbed an opportunity to sign him," Conte told Sky Sport Italia

"He really wanted to play for Juventus and was even willing to take a pay cut. He will strengthen our attack.

Juve sit nine points clear of second-placed Roma in Serie A, having played a game more, after seeing off Inter 3-1 on Sunday.

Osvaldo adds to a Juve forward line that includes the likes of Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente, with Conte hopeful the Italy international can keep his fellow strikers on their toes

"As we are chasing the Scudetto and the Europa League we will need to keep our energy level high and competition for places will help us," he added
